Year of Great Tech Sessions, Networking, and Learning!
PMI Philippines-Vis/Min Region closed out 2017 reflecting on the great Tech Sessions held throughout the year. With great speakers, food, and networking opportunities, PMI members in the Visayas participated with fellow project managers to further the growth in their profession and took advantage of the value offered by their PMI membership! 2018 promises more of the same, and then some! On behalf of PMI Philippines and the Vis/Min Operations Team (pictured at left), thank you for your support in 2017 and here’s to a Happy New Year 2018!

March 25th Tech Session-Quest Hotel and Conference Center, Cebu, Philippines


Speaker Ian Goldfinch, Program Management Officer, DILG Region 8 spoke about Managing Project Risk. He was followed by Israel Keys, CEO, BloomSolutions, Inc. who discussed the art of Negotiation Success. An added learning and networking session titled “Hot Topics” allowed attendees to discuss the challenges faced by all in the workplace.

We had the pleasure of Ruben Manga, PMI Philippines Board of Trustee, open our Tech Session driving the continued importance of Project Management principles. Our first speaker, Mia Cuenco, Vice President, Carmen Copper discussed Human Resource Management. She was followed by Jeff Dy, Vice President, SAS Management, Inc. who discussed Agile Project Management.

Taking advantage of PMI Philippines strong training opportunities, Timex Corporation enlisted the help of PMI to train their project managers on MS Project. The training was facilitated by Ichsan Mohammed.

Our final Tech Session of the year was a special one, as it commemorated the one year anniversary of the renewed PMI Philippines operation in the Vis/Min region. Our speaker line up was equally special with Dr. Francisco Castillo, SVP and Chief Information Officer, Maynilad Water Services, opening our session to discuss the Digitalization of Maynilad: Lessons Learned On Project Management. He was followed by Maria Pilar “Ping” Roque, Senior Consultant, Antonio Rivera Consulting, Inc., who spoke on the importance of incorporating Business Analysis in projects.
