PMI PHILIPPINES CHAPTER - VIS/MIN REGION HOLDS 1ST ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

The first ever Annual Christmas Party for PMI Philippines Chapter Vis/Min-based members was held on Sat, Dec 3rd at the Quest Hotel & Conference Center in Cebu.  “This is another event bringing value to each membership” said Joe Rey, Associate Director, PMI Philippines Chapter, Vis/Min Region, “and we’re glad members took time from their busy holiday activities to attend.” About 50% of the Vis/Min membership base attended the party taking advantage of networking with fellow project management practitioners.

The evening opened with a great dinner buffet which included an open bar with beer and wine. Members dined on Clam and Corn Soup, Humba, Steamed Fish, Lechon, Roast Chicken, Spaghetti, Porchetta, and included an assortment of salads, vegetables and of course, desserts! The Full Barz Band then entertained the audience with some great 80’s music sprinkled with the latest hits of today. They later provided open-mike sessions (otherwise known as Karaoke) to let the audience join in for some great singing of their own which proved to be very entertaining.

Throughout the evening, Raffle Prizes were drawn and members won great electronic gadgets like a handful of Logitech Bluetooth speakers and Seagate 2TB external storage drives. The major prize of an Acer cell phone was awarded as was the Grand Prize of a Huawei MediaPad Tablet. No doubt several members went home happy! But the night was not over yet, members tested their skills and teamwork by participating on the “Build The Tower” contest, “the ABCD game” which tested their PMBOK knowledge, and a Minute To Win It “Chopstick Challenge”. Some serious competition ensued between the teams.

PMI events are planned, staffed, and organized by volunteers, juggling their schedules between full time day jobs and PMI planning meetings. Thank you to the PMI Vis/Min Operations Team for their unselfish time and effort towards the success of the Christmas Party.
