2010 Technical Session No. 2 - Leveraging Agile Project ManagementPMI Philippines Chapter welcomes back Ian Koenig as speaker for the 2nd technical session of 2010. Ian, who had presented a couple of topics previously, spoke on "Leveraging Agile Project Management" to over 100 attendees at the Magellan Function Room of the Discovery Suites last June 8.
Agile project management, although originating from the software development world, can be used for other types of projects, asserted Ian. These projects can be in marketing, sales, mergers and acquisitions, and other areas, which have fast changing requirements/environments, and where the customer expects flexibility from the supplier. Ian then gave a quick history of Agile Project Management, including its predecessors, from Rapid Application Development - raise your hands if you were involved with this one :-), SCRUM and Extreme Programming. He emphasized the importance of embracing change, and the expectation of doing rework, with this PM approach. A copy of Ian's presentation is available here, and photos of the evening are here. Our many thanks to Ian for once again delivering an interesting presentation! |
