2009 Technical Session No. 5 - Project Management Methodologies (PROPS)

Ms. Lena Dubbelman, Managing Director of Semcon Project Management Asia Pacific, was the guest presenter for PMI Philippines Chapter's 5th technical session for the year.  The presentation was held at the Clermont Room of the Discovery Suites in Ortigas, Pasig City, on September 23.

Ms. Dubbelman started the presentation with a general overview of project management methodologies. She then presented the PROPS Framework, a project management model that has been in use since the late '80s.  Lena talked about the PROPS Project Life Cycle, Project Management Knowledge Areas (especially on Project Value), the 4 required PROPS project documents, and roles in the project organization.  She then moved into Program and Portfolio Management, differentiating between projects, programs and portfolio management.
